After reading some Rumi I wrote this...

There is a truth
deeper
than the truth
I live in now.

But i've fought
and explored
and gone deeper
and deeper
I say.

But the truth is
that underlying the feelings
lies another truth
a deeper truth
a truth that makes
the unanswerable questions
moot

beyond the action
beyond the why
or how can he be this way
there is a truth

the tanglement
will never become solved
by my pulling the strings
this way or that

maybe when i play
puppeteer
the strings become
all the more entangled

my truth is
it does not matter
at all
what you do
or why you do it
all i can glean
is what rises
within me
and what
it is
i seek

and under mine
and other's dramas
the truth whispers
it is there
always there

many surround
all around
with blinders they
rigidly keep on
only to lash out
when someone
tries to see
beyond them

it is time now
to sleep
to rest
so tomorrow
i come
with full faculties
to hear
and face
the truths i hear

Bearing witness to truth is what women do best even when we cannot voice those truths or live them fully. I am glad you are reading Rumi and being inspired to write poetry.

It is Christmas, the snow is melting fast - peace be upon you this day x
